Overview

Cradle Mountain Lodge is a wilderness lodge at Cradle Mountain, located in north western Tasmania. With breathtaking scenery, private cabins, local food and wines and a huge choice of indoor and outdoor activities, on the edge of the World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park, Cradle Mountain Lodge provides the ultimate retreat.

At Cradle Mountain Lodge, private cabins are situated amongst beautiful scenery where you might spot some local wildlife passing by your window. The four cabin configurations to choose from are the luxurious King Billy Suite, Spa Suites, Spa Cabins and Pencil Pine Cabins. All of the cabins include a cosy log or gas fire, mini bar, bathroom, tea making facilities and plunger coffee, and includes a daily housekeeping service. Some family cabins are also available.

During the day at Cradle Mountain Lodge you can choose to do as much or as litlle as you desire. You could venture outdoors and take one of the 20 scenic walking trails around the lodge, hire a bicycle and go mountain biking, take an animal night viewing tour or go fly fishing or canoeing if the weather is right!

If you prefer to stay indoors you can relax in the private guest lounge with its crackling log fire, borrow some board games from reception or visit the luxurious Waldheim Alpine Spa and treat yourself to a relaxing spa treatment. In the evening make your way to the Highland Restaurant for dinner, or visit the Tavern Bar and Bistro which has a more relaxed atmosphere.

Cradle Mountain Lodge has everything you need for a luxurious, rejuvinating and unique getaway amongst the Tasmanian wilderness.

Please note that cellphone reception and internet access is limited due to the unique location of Cradle Mountain Lodge, however many guests find that this is a nice escape from the demands of technology.

Getting There

By plane:
Fly to Launceston, Devonport or Hobart airports.

By car:
Car rentals are available from all airports or major cities. Drive time is 2.5 hours from Launceston, 1.5 hours from Burnie, 1.25 hours from Devonport, and 4.5 hours drive from Hobart.

Airport Transfers:
Cradle Mountain Lodge offers airport transfers from Devonport to Cradle Mountain Lodge in comfortable air conditioned vehicles. Please book prior to arrival.

Coach transfers:
Tassie Link offers airport transfers from both Devonport and Launceston Airports for a fee.

Sea connections:
Access Tasmania by sea, and travel on the "Spirit of Tasmania" between Melbourne and Devonport. Please book in advance.

1 Bedroom King Billy Suite
The ultimate in luxury accommodation, King Billy Suites are spacious suites with contemporary decor. These large suites feature separate living and sleeping areas and an expansive deck with your own private jacuzzi overlooking the bush. Inside, enjoy your log fire with wood and kindling provided, a heater, arm chairs, tea making facilities and plunger coffee, a fridge, a CD player and CD's, as well as a mini bar. Discover your well appointed bathroom with a spa bath, bathrobes and slippers for your use.

Each evening you will be treated to a complimentary port as well as a gourmet platter, whether a selection of canapes or a cheese platter.

Bedding configuration is 1 King bed. Maximum occupancy is 3 guests.

1 Bedroom Spa Suite
Spa suites are perfect for those guests looking to indulge. Spa suites feature an expansive deck with outdoor furniture and views overlooking the wilderness, perfect for spotting wildlife. Inside, enjoy your log fire with wood and kindling provided, a heater, arm chairs, tea making facilities and plunger coffee, a fridge, a CD player and CD's and a mini bar. Contemporary Spa Cabins feature modern decor and a gas fire, wheras traditional Spa Cabins feature wooden interiors with a log fire with wood and kindling provided. Additional features include arm chairs, tea making facilities and plunger coffee, a fridge, a CD player and CD's as well as a mini bar. Discover your well appointed bathroom with a spa bath and bathrobes for your use.

Bedding configuration is 1 Queen bed and 1 Single bed, or 1 Queen bed and 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 3 guests.

1 Bedroom Pencil Pine Cabin
Pencil Pine Cabins are located near to the lodge, with a deck offering guests lodge, lake and forest views. Pencil Pine Cabins feature modern decor and a gas fire. Additional features include arm chairs, tea making facilities and plunger coffee, a fridge, a CD player and CD's as well as a mini bar.

Bedding configuration is 1 Queen bed, or 1 Queen bed and 1 Day bed, or 1 Queen bed and 2 Single beds, or 1 Queen bed, 1 Day bed and 1 Sofa bed. Maximum occupancy is 5 guests.
