Located at the top of Golden Orchid Drive and nestled on the hill amongst tropical gardens, Martinique Whitsunday boasts of one of the best locations in Airlie Beach.

We were disappointed with our three bedroom apartment, there were many things in poor repair - patches of white paint on the coloured walls in each of the bedrooms, thick black tape holding the rotting window frame together in the dining room. When we booked we advised we had toddlers and needed cots and highchairs. On arrival we found we had been placed in a room with a flight of about 10 stairs (tiled). Very unsafe and made our holiday stressful. There was little sympathy from the manager who suggested we hire a gate at our expense which was actually even more dangerous. The cots and highchairs we had booked and had confirmation, were forgotten about and had to be re-booked. Seems the managers have poor communication between them as one ofthe staff there mentioned. We were disappointed that we had not been booked into the single level apartment that they have as we had booked many many months ahead, or at least advised of the stairs when booking. The views were good, but otherwise disappointed.

Getting There

Driving- 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway to Airlie Beach. Turn right from the main street (Shute Harbour Road) into Waterson Way, take the first left into Golden Orchid Drive. Martinique Whitsunday is situated at the top of the road.

From Proserpine Airport- Bus or taxi approx 35 minutes.

From Hamilton Island Airport- Transfers with Fantasea cruises to Shute Harbour, then a 10 minute bus or taxi ride.

Children / Extra Guests

Infants under 2 are free using existing bedding. Cot hire is available at $10 per night. Extra guests are $30 per night.
